Christina 4-11-17 HIPAA Passive Legal & Ethical Responsibilities Show the different things that HIPAA needs to do to protect their patients confidentiality Problem Solvers
HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which is a US law designed to provide privacy standards to protect patients' medical records and other information provided to health facilities. This artifact shows how many places the program needs to protect your privacy. This connects to other chapters because they kept talking about how you can't say specific information about your patients to everyone and that you need to keep their confidentiality. It falls into the category of problem solvers I think because the people who work there need to make people don't have access to their information. I also believe that people should have their privacy and only let others know certain information when they want to.
